The control room was usually the busiest area on the sub. This wheel faces the compartment’s forward bulkhead and directly steers port and starboard.

Funny how they have what could easily be a ship’s wheel, with nothing to steer by in the way of direct visual guidance. Perhaps joysticks hadn’t been invented yet.

I love all of the repeating circles. The different colors are nice, also.

They did have their periscopes to use when they were close to the surface! Love the detail in this.
