This cropped image from a 300 mm lens brought us as close as we could get to an eagle on the other side of the river at the Thousand Islands Conservancy Zone. The Zone encompasses 350 acres and includes seven miles of trails.

Looks like a cute young fellow.

Well captured, the bird looks like he (or she) is sunning him(or her)self on a sunny day.

Nice clear shot – even from a distance. Well captured.

A fine shot of this fierce bird. I like the flow of brown tones against the stark blue of the sky.

Great shot and fine focus from that distance with a long lens….did you tripod it?

This was hand held.

Along the same lines,, I have a photo that was taken from a distance. I would like to zoom in and save that version. I don’t care about the loss of quality. I’ve tried zooming in, cropping it and saving it, but that doesn’t work.
I look forward to your next post

Those are hard to capture and you did a wonderful job (thank goodness for zoom lenses!)

Some great birds of prey shots showing up last few days! I love it when they’re fluffed up to the cold like this guy here. They look so tough and intimidating. Especially impressive that it was hand-held. Nifty!
