The male Red-Winged Blackbird thinks he is sexy sitting high up in the tree puffing out his brightly marked wings and calling out a cheery tune. He is polygamous, and will mate with several females in his territory.

I didn’t know that red-wings were polygamous. I do know that they are raunchy and make lots of noise. Great shot.

He looks so proud, i like these birds a lot. They are cheery sounding and a good indicator of healthy wetlands I just read.
