Photo a Day Challenge

A snow covered bench faces a field of vines.  We learned that Wollersheim’s best estate wines are vinted from their oldest vines on the steepest slopes.   We also learned that we visited a month too late;  they harvest frozen grapes in December and vint  Ice Wine, their Nectar of the Vines.  Their Ice Wine 2011 sells for $47 per half bottle.  We opted  for a small taste at $2.

  1. I could see myself sitting there in the warmer months enjoying the views! Looks a little cold now, but still very peaceful. Dying to know what you thought of the ice wine!

    • Lois thought it was decadent . . . John thought it was too sweet.

  3. Very fond of ice wine and that looks like a good spot to watch it growing. Hasn’t been a good year for it in this part of Ontario and last winter wasn’t any better – too warm. I’m also rather fond of ice cider but not a good year for that either as most of the apple blossoms got hit by an early spring, late frost.

  4. Hi Lois,
Looks a little too cold for me. I’ll take the house any time. Have a great day!

  5. Looks like a cold soft seat, I was surprised that Tammy didn’t ask if they would Pipe it direct to the house.
