The burning mirror machine uses gears to rotate a stone grinder and a horizontal mirror simultaneously. The machine was used by artisans for welding and perhaps also intended for setting enemy ships afire.

I am blown away by the photos you’ve posted of Da Vinci’s drawings and inventions. I want to go see this museum! So fascinating! You did an excellent job of shooting, and were very creative in matching to the themes.

Compared with today’s welding machines, this one is much more interesting (and almost pretty)! 🙂 I am loving seeing the plans next to the machine.

Yes, da Vinci is absolutely great, have seen many things of him in Italy.
