Photo a Day Challenge

Liquid

Maple trees were tapped and buckets hung in the Bubolz Nature Preserve during the first week of March. We missed the culminating event when the Sap was to be collected,  turned into syrup and offered over ice cream on the last day of March.  We found numerous buckets still collecting sap on our hike through the trails ten days later.  The owner of this bucket appears to subscribe to the philosophy which states, “Presentation is everything!”

  3. Hi Lois,
I’m with Ron, I need some pancakes to use that much syrup. Great shot, love that bucket. Not your ordinary bucket. Have a great day!

I like a lot the texture on the tree. Nicely composed.

Love maple syrup, but the price! I looked at some at the store the other day and it was about $20 for a pint, or perhaps it was for just 12 ounces. I wonder what my inflation calculator will show for that 23 years down the road? 😉

  12. This is the fanciest sap bucket I have ever seen. Really like the curvature of the bark at the base of this tree.
